Leaving for Shanksville

September 30th, 2005 at 10:11 am by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

I’m going to see the Flight 93 memorial site for myself. It’s a 90-mile drive, so I’ll be back this afternoon.

I’ll report on how I feel after I get back. I will be talking to the volunteers and get their take on this.

Now THIS is Art!

September 29th, 2005 at 2:22 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

Another photo essay, but this really is a work of art. And you have to take your hat off to Tantor, who went undercover as a leftist and took pictures of the moonbats throughout the protest. How he managed to pull it off, I’ll never understand.

Here are a few of my favorite bits:

The brain-damaged lefties don’t understand that in real fascist states the fascists arrest you, beat you, and throw you in a dark dungeon for calling them fascist. Toting a sign around calling the government fascist is a guarantee that you don’t live in a fascist state.

. . .

Ben Dupuy, one of Haitian ex-president Aristide’s henchmen, gave a scathing denunciation of Bush (”BUSH LIED!”) and asked, “Is this the kind of democracy we want!?” As I recall, Aristide’s democracy involved mounting gasoline-soaked tires on its enemies necks and lighting them.

. . .

The representative of Black Voices for Peace shouted, “This is the most dangerous government to come to power in the history of the US!” Well, I certainly hope so and I hope Al Qaeda and the Baathists and Iran and North Korea think so too. The last administration was a touchy-feely kumbaya government and look where it got us.

. . .

However, the socialist alternative usually involves killing people in big bloody batches to achieve their idea of utopia.

. . .

Give bombing a chance, I say. Visualize smart bombs. On Saudi Arabia.

. . .

You can never have too many commies at a peace march. Commies love to march for peace, when they’re not invading countries or rounding up people to be shot.

. . .

Say what you will about conservatives, the one thing you will never see a Republican doing is waltzing around the White House with his johnson flying in the breeze like this lefty genius.

Savor the whole thing here. And make sure you have a box of kleenex near, in case you laugh as hard as I did.

H/T to Gunn Nutt.

It’s a Great Day!

September 29th, 2005 at 1:32 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

First, John Roberts is confirmed. Second, the hand-wringing leftist anti-American “freedom center” has been nixed from the Ground Zero memorial plans. I note, however, that Pataki didn’t have the nerve to mention why this “freedom center” was fought by so many. I assume he is too afraid of the Village Voice and the New York Slimes.

As for the Flight 93 memorial, I have mixed feelings. I heard a conservative say on the radio the other day that he changed his mind after going down there, and claimed that the crescent was more a function of the lay of the land than intentional design (he was talking about the crescent of maple trees, not the proposed memorial–whose design has also been nixed). He also said that there was no hand-wringing among the volunteers who work there every day, though that doesn’t surprise me, considering that the area is near Shanksville, about ninety miles from here. About the only thing I do have strong feelings about here is that we have had enough of this panty-waisted, new-age-y, pop psychology-y “healing” nonsense. We’re at war. It’s a time for anger and vengence. “Healing” is never appropriate for a war memorial.

So I’m going to go down there, maybe tomorrow. I want to just to do it, and I want to see if going there makes the issue any clearer for me.

The Sky Is Falling (for the 2683rd time)

September 29th, 2005 at 6:16 am by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

When liberals aren’t whining and moaning and wringing their hands and being afraid, they’re slandering conservatives with those oh-so-chic nasty names, like fascist or Nazi. The one thing liberals never do is confront the facts—or defend the United States.

Liberals have constructed a fantasy world from myths that have nothing to do with reality, and yes, Virginia, they really do believe their delusions are real. In order to see just how irrational these people are, we have to look at a few of the myths liberals have constructed—starting with the most fundamental.

Liberals will grudgingly admit that Stalin wasn’t exactly Willy Wonka, but then turn around and insist that Hitler and the Nazis were right-wingers. Well no. The Nazis were left-wingers. Exactly what part of ’sozialistische’ in ‘Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei’ don’t you understand? (Or for those who can’t read German, what part of ’socialist’ in ‘German National Socialist Workers Party’ don’t you understand?)

Liberal fear-mongering hinges on this myth. It is their only justification for howling “Nazi! Police state!” when they’re trying to get you to vote for their agenda—rather, against Republicans (liberals know they can’t get people to vote for their platform; that’s why they rely on the SCOTUS to push it on the nation). Without this myth, the web of liberal hysteria falls apart, into otherwise unrelated doom and gloom predictions and breathtakingly surreal fantasies of “a better world,” which translated from liberalese to English means, “You will do what we say because we know better than you what’s good for you and the nation.”

If you thought, “There is no terrorist threat!” was the most idiotic thing you’d heard, well, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you’re wrong. Far more idiotic, nearly psychotic, in fact, is, “There is no terrorist threat! And the Religious Right is trying to turn us into a theocratic police state!” Closely related is, “Christianity is a religion of hate and violence, but Islam is a religion of peace and love!”

That no doubt explains the Southern Baptist homicide bombers in London, Mormon missionaries flying planes into the World Trade Center, Roman Catholic honor killings and Presbyterian female circumcision.

I hate to keep saying this, but I’m not making this up. Liberals don’t fear Islamist homicide bombers (this is why they call them freedom fighters or insurgents instead of terrorists), but they fear Reverend Stanley. Do they think his congregation will kidnap them and force them to eat jello salad at a church dinner?

If you don’t believe in mass hysteria, read the New York Times.

If there’s one good thing about all this screaming about Bush, Rove, Rummy, the Nazis in the White House, and the poor oppressed disadvantaged marginalized little brown terrorists (or should that be terrorists of color?), it’s keeping these wackjobs from howling about global warming and saving the spotted earthworm. God, I was getting sick of that.

It’s Chicken Little all over again. The sky is always falling, often because of shadowy global corporate conspiracies, or evil Republicans, or global warming, or drilling in Alaska, or flags, or Christians, or talk radio, or the Electoral College, or free speech, or people with firearms, oh, liberals are scared of everything except each other. And everything they’re scared of is going to cause the end of the world as we know it.

Fear, fear, fear, fear. It’s always fear and hysteria. Don’t they realize that if they at least tried to appear rational, people might vote for them?

Somebody tell them to shut up. Thanks.

What’s Wrong with Education

September 27th, 2005 at 4:58 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

In all seriousness, covering everything that is screwed up about the educational system on the US today would surely end up as a book at least as long as War and Peace. Okay, maybe Anna Karenina. But most people, and I’m not trying to be condescening here, see only part of the picture.

This is an insider’s perspective. I’m not promising that it will necessarily be a party-line conservative scoop; we run into that insider’s perspective thing again there, and frankly, the conservatives are in some ways just plain flat-out way off track. So you’ve been warned. And understand that my experience is in the university, so even though there are a lot of problems with secondary and primary schools, I’m not going to talk through my hat.

Apprentice Watch, Premiere

September 24th, 2005 at 7:10 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

I am completely addicted to the Apprentice. And since I’m watching the first episode now, here are my impressions.

Markus is a SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy), and like most SNAGs, he’s a moron. Unfortunately, he’s the project leader. Tell me, how would you feel about your project leader’s abilities if he stopped the meeting to say, “Guys, how am I doing? Is there anything you feel I should do differently?” What’s next? Call for a big group hug? Have a sensitivity session?

Fire him. Now.

I don’t think they’ll lose, as bad as the other team seems to be doing. But Markus is number one on my YOU’RE FIRED list, like that stupid hippie with the guitar last season.

Ah, we’re in the boardroom. God, I wish Carolyn would run for President. And I knew it, the guys won, so Markus will be here next episode. However, this season winning project managers only get exemptions if their team votes for them — and the team didn’t give him an exemption. Good. He’s an idiot. So if they lose next week, maybe Trump will send him packing.

Then there’s this Hispanic woman on the other team. She talks too much. The others already hate her–and it looks like they’re going after her in the boardroom. The chum is in the water. But the project manager really should go. She had no plan, no organization, she just had them walk the streets in Spanish Harlem trying to drum up people to take their fitness class.

I won’t reveal who gets the axe, just in case you haven’t seen it yet.

God, I love this show.

The left-wing Telegraph (UK) reports that a dozen of those poor, oppressed, disenfranchised, marginzalized, victimized terrori … uh, prisoners that have been released from Gitmo have gone right back to being prisone … uh, terrorists. Yet, in the same story:

Matthew Waxman, the US deputy assistant defence secretary, said that significant improvements had been made for the 500 remaining “enemy combatants” behind bars.

Let’s see, the paper reports that the terrorists were terrorists and should have been kept in Gitmo where they belong, but then turns around and uses sneer quotes around enemy combatants. Do you think whoever wrote this didn’t process what he was writing, or was he just so driven to bash the US that he had to put those sneer quotes in there?

LOL! The United Nitwits Do It Again!

September 24th, 2005 at 1:03 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

Do what, you ask? Why, pass another meaningless resolution, which they have no intention of enforcing, of course! What else do they do, except take bribes and promote terrorism? Here’s the story.

For two years, the EU’s three biggest powers — France, Britain and Germany — have tried to persuade Iran that it needed to abandon its enriched uranium fuel program to convince the world that its atomic ambitions are peaceful.

And who is stupid enough to believe this, outside of the Euroweenie Union, that is?

Last month, the talks collapsed after Tehran resumed uranium processing and rejected an EU offer of economic and political incentives if it scrapped its uranium enrichment program, prompting the EU trio to join Washington in calling for the case to be sent to the Security Council.

Tehran has threatened to retaliate.

No doubt these weenies think “retaliate” means the Iranians will stomp their feet and hold their breath.

And of course, the United States is the only nation behind this that actually intends to enforce this. Somebody tell me why we still belong to this organization of idiots again.

An Anonymous Classic

September 24th, 2005 at 10:22 am by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

I got this on a mailing list. I have no idea who wrote it. Normally, I wouldn’t post unverifiable stuff, but this says it all, I think.

Here it is.

I served my country overseas and came back to spit and curses from these peacenik liberals, after I saw good men die, men I served with, my brothers in arms. How is it that Cindy has “moral authority” but I don’t?

I have two sons in the military, both in Iraq. One of my sons was injured, and asked to be returned to his men in Iraq. He could have stayed here in the US. He didn’t. How is it that Cindy has “moral authority” but my son doesn’t?

I have a niece who serves in a military hospital and every day cares for wounded soldiers. Last week, she held the hand of a soldier whose liberal parents–exactly like Cindy Sheehan–refused to speak to him because he wanted to serve his country, and while she held his hand, he died. How is it that Cindy has “moral authority” but my niece doesn’t?

Cindy Sheehan’s organization, Code Pink, is cursing soldiers in a demonstration outside Walter Reed. How is it Cindy has “moral authority” but the wounded soldiers who are forced to listen to her and her kind don’t?

And finally, all the focus has been on Cindy. How about her son? Here’s a link to a page that honors him. Read it, then tell me how is it that Cindy has “moral authority” but her son, Casey, doesn’t?

So don’t give me this crap about Cindy’s “moral authority” or her being a “grieving mother.” Whatever “moral authority” she has is nonexistent compared to those who serve their country and fight so Cindy can degrade the United States.

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Being Called a Conservative

It’s silly, really, when you think about it, that any reasonable adult would want to be known as a libertarian. Given that the objectivist libertarians, anarchist libertarians, hippie scum libertarians, litmus test libertarians, liberaltarian libertarians, not in my name libertarians, anarcho-communist libertarians, whoever, they’re all nutball libertarians — anyway, given that the nutball libertarians not only run the LP but dominate every libertarian forum I can find, why would I want to object when they scream “You’re not a libertarian!” at me?

No, I’m not — thank God.

Such was the case when on a mailing list, I received this (I did edit most of this crap to leave the relevant part):

Did I *REALLY* Used to Watch That?

September 22nd, 2005 at 3:49 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

I saw Star Trek: The Next Generation was on Spike, so I TiVO’d it.

I can’t believe I ever watched it. What a big, steaming, reeking pile of let’s have a group hug and sing kumbayah, new-age-y, postmodernist, appeasenik, world peace now, let’s all go see a therapist, leftist manure that show is. Some lines:

“I’m receiving an overpowering sense of well-being from the crew!”

“We no longer enslave animals for food production.”

I nearly barfed watching it–even before Wesley Crusher showed up on my TV screen. And Picard, how awful was he. Jeez, was I brain-damaged, or did I just not notice?

Anyway, I was curious and the queasy feeling was over, so I watched DS9. Hell, that’s even worse. We have the “poor, oppressed, disadvantaged, marginalized” paleswinians (thinly disguised), demonized Jews, conveniently broken into two separate groups: the police state species that “oppressed” the paleswinians, and the greedy ones with the big ears. And DS9 is full of this “why don’t we all just love one another” crap, even more than ST:TNG.

I hated Voyager when it was on; I had no intention of putting myself through throwing things at the screen again every time Janeway was on.

How in the hell did I ever stand either one of these shows?

Another Leftist Myth Bites the Dust

September 20th, 2005 at 12:10 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

Well, well, well, seems that Allende, that hero of the left, was a KGB agent:

BY FAR the most important of the KGB’s contacts in South America was Salvador Allende Gossens (codenamed Leader by the KGB), whose election as President of Chile in 1970 was hailed as “a revolutionary blow to the imperialist system in Latin America”.

Not that that will change anything, of course. After all, Robert Byrnes was for years a Stalin apologist, and the university rewarded his defense of the greatest mass-murderer in the 20th century with an endowment (see “David L. Ransel is Robert F. Byrnes Professor of History, Director of the Russian and East European Institute, and Co-Director of the European Union Center at Indiana University, Bloomington.” about halfway down the page).

I don’t usually have the stomach to read democraticunderground.com, but every once in a while, I drop in. And they’re even nuttier than they usually are–this one, for example:

what’s keeping it from utterly collapsing? you can only put duct tape and lipstick on it for so long before it sinks asunder. how can it continue as if nothing were wrong? why aren’t people rioting yet? why do so many STILL support the ape? where are the fucking democrats? how is it all propped up and held together? what fog is blinding so many millions to the actual state of the union? what mind trick? what curse?

how long can it stand before it finally implodes like the twin towers? not much longer i’m afraid. how long before the distracted masses have that ‘what the fuck’? moment? what invisible string binds it all together still?

what hypnotic trance are we in that prevents us from surrounding the white house and ridding it of the cockroaches?

dead people are floating down the streets of america, and we all go to church on sunday like robots. what the fuck america? what the fuck?

But wait, they get more psycho as you go down the thread. This, for example:

They killed Mel Carnahan, they killed Paul Wellstone, JFK and JFK jr., they anthraxed Dascle and Leahey. Call me tin foil, I believe those things. There’s something REALLY big afoot.

So is it a full moon? Is it bad drugs? Is it something in the water supply? Squishy toilet seats? Tofu overdose? And why are these nuts running around loose where they could hurt somebody–shouldn’t the CDC be rounding them up with butterfly nets?

See for yourself.

In the spirit of Hundredpercenter and Florida Cracker, I bring you the following, meant to help diagnose loony leftist moonbats before they become dangerous.

You may be a barking moonbat if:

  • you even contemplated voting for Kerry
  • you think the US should be subject to the UN and the World Court
  • you get a sick feeling every time you see the Amercan flag
  • you think Eugene Debs was an American hero, but Thomas Jefferson is just a “dead white male”
  • you think most Americans are as liberal as you
  • you think anyone not as liberal as you is stupid or a bigot
  • you spend your free time coming up with silly derogatory nicknames for President George W. Bush
  • you would buy free-range water
  • you believe that the US is an evil imperialist power
  • you always side against the US
  • you think Jose Padilla is a martyr
  • you think Bill and Hillary are “centrists”
  • you resent the fact that you’re not old enough to have been a hippie
  • you think Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro are great leaders
  • you think Stalin’s crimes are exaggerated
  • you use “religious right” in a sentence more than once a month
  • you think there is a conservative bias in the media
  • you love going to protests
  • you tell people you’re from Canada when you travel overseas
  • you cried when you heard Dennis Kucinich say, “I am running for President of the United States to enable the Goddess of Peace to encircle within her arms all the children of this country and all the children of the world.”
  • you would call 911 if you saw somebody with a firearm
  • you don’t think Howard Dean is liberal enough to head the DNC
  • you think the Democrats aren’t being confrontational enough
  • you think Soros and Heinz-Kerry would be good leaders for the US because they’re European and therefore so much more cultured
  • you think we need to raise taxes
  • you cried (this time because you were so SAD) when you found out Bush won the 2004 election
  • you threatened to move to Canuckistan if Bush won the election
  • Abu Ghraib bothers you more than beheading people
  • you use the word “imperialist” more than once a month
  • you think the Oil for Food scandal is trumped up
  • you think the US military should not be able to recruit on college campuses
  • you think “under God” should be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance
  • crosses and the Ten Commandments in public enrages you, but the public display of any other religion’s symbols is “multiculturalism” or “tolerance”
  • you support hate crimes or hate speech legislation
  • you belive Clinton was impeached for having oral sex
  • you scream “racist!” “homophobe!” “sexist!” or “bigot!” anytime somebody disagrees with your point of view
  • you believe that people who had nothing to do with owning slaves owe blacks reparations 140 years after the Civil War
  • you think the Constitution needs to be “interpreted”
  • you think sexual harassment laws aren’t strict enough
  • you blame Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove, Republicans, or conservatives for every bad thing that happens

That’s enough. I may add to the list later.

But speaking of that nutjob Kucinich, the goddess of peace thing is pretty good, but this has always been my favorite Kucinich quote (make sure you’re not drinking anything when you read this, or you may spew it all over your monitor and keyboard):

“The energy of the stars becomes us. We become the energy of the stars. Stardust and spirit unite, and we begin: One with the universe. Whole and holy. From one source, endless creative energy, bursting forth, kinetic, elemental. We, the earth, air, water and fire source of nearly 15 billion years of cosmic spiraling.”

Like, WOW, man! Oooo, seriously like spacey and like deeply spiritual, ya know?

Time for a New Bumpersticker

September 13th, 2005 at 4:01 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting pretty sick of all this “hybrid” and “hydrogen” nonsense, given the disadvantages of both. So I want a bumpersticker that says:

ALASKAN GASOLINE ONLY

Just to make the greeniemorons seethe.

Again, this is a bit long. But read it.

Ah, Those Unions!

September 13th, 2005 at 11:50 am by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

This story is too good to pass up. Of course, unions don’t care about wages or anything else, other than whether they are allowed to blackmail corporations, so why would you expect any consistency or principles?

It reminds me of the envirowackjobs back in Indiana who would protest Old Navy about sweatshops, while wearing clothes from K-Mart.

Idiots.

Flavors of Stupidity

September 13th, 2005 at 9:35 am by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

Stupidity is a whole continuum. There’s your garden-variety stupidity, which sometimes (not nearly often enough) takes itself out of the gene pool. A great example is this moron, who died after eating a pain-medicine patch. You know, your everyday “duh” variety of stupidity.

Amazing.

This is surely the most offensive thing I’ve seen in years. And let this be a lesson: this is where “multiculturalism” leads.

Evil Bush! Nazi Bush! Bad Bush!

September 12th, 2005 at 1:52 pm by rightwingprof -- Trackback URL

Finally. A journalist with a brain.

But really now, enough is enough. Clearly, liberals do not understand that the President is not a dictator, and is bound by the Contitution, in this case, unable to rush in without the Governor’s invitation. But then, reality has always been to liberals rather as cryptonite was to superman.

So what we have here is liberals screeching and whining because Bush obeyed the law. And what would have happened had Bush done what liberals apparently think he should have done, and ignored posse comitatus and rushed into Louisiana with the troops?

Why, they’d be screaming, “Dictator! Tyrant! Hitler! Nazi! Fascist!” at the tops of the lungs, just as they have been doing for the last five years.

Bless their little hearts.

The point, of course, is that it makes no difference what Bush does or does not do, in any given circumstance. Liberals are going to shriek about it, whatever it is. They will scream louder and louder, no matter what.

So I say let them scream. No, encourage them to scream. Encourage them to put out idiotic, counterfactual commercials and press releases about Roberts, about Katrina, about whatever the liberal screaming point of the day might be. Keep them screaming, and they’ll screech us into an even larger Republican majority in Congress and the state legislatures.

Give em hell, Howard Dean!
