Fasten Your Seatbelts, It’s Going to Be a Bumpy Night
Well, not to jump the gun or anything, but I suspect Frist will have to put the nuclear option back on the table, and use it. What Frist and the Republicans do in the next few months will be the true test–and reveal who does and does not have the gumption to run in 2008.
As far as the Senate goes, it’s going to affect the 2006 elections as well.
Bush will, as always, fulfil his campaign promise to appoint a constructionist to the SCOTUS, and the Dhimmicrats will put up a fight the likes of which we have yet to see. Roberts will shift the balance, but only slightly; the second judge will, thank God, shift the court back to a constructionist, pro-Constitution, judical branch.
And the Dhimmicrats won’t stand for it, since they can’t win at the ballot box and can only implement their agenda by judicial fiat.
There will be wailing about “women’s rights” and abortion, “civil rights” and every scare tactic they can think of. Reid will slip even further into his role as Daschle II, and he will lead his party in a campaign of lies and slander. The MSM will jump onboard, and New Orleans will seem like an elementary schoolyard by comparison.
It’s well past time for Republicans in Congress to start acting like they are the majority. It’s mandatory now. This will be the war that sets the direction of our nation, to reclaim our American heritage, or descend further into Euroweenie welfare dependency.
And if there is one overriding reason I voted for Bush, this is it.
Somebody get the popcorn.
