Er. uh, but Halloween was yesterday …

The reason I haven’t said anything about Prince Whatshisname’s visit is … well, who cares? He’s irrelevant in the UK — why in the name of all that’s decent should we care what he thinks or says about anything?
Then there’s that 1776 thing …
I’m on several mailing lists, and I read usenset. And it’s painfully obvious who does, and does not, read blogs. Those who don’t are always forwarding on articles about something that was all over the blogosphere three days previously. I mean, come on, folks, get with the program! That’s old news! It’s like the TV news, always what you saw the day before yesterday on the blogs.
Decision 08 has compiled a list of the Top Ten Kos Kidz Reactios to Alito. My favorite:
Number 3 - Wizard Kitten: This can and should be a defining moment for the Democratic Party. This forces them to stand up and make a distinction- at least that is what I’m hoping for.
If they don’t- kiss the Party goodbye. Women will leave in droves. Progressives will leave in droves. Those of us hanging on to the tiny bit of hope we had that the Dems will put up a fight- we will go now if they don’t.
They must fight this. Or they are toast.
This is it, kids. This is the battle that will define both parties for some time to come.
Let’s do it. I’m tired of f***ing around with these people. If we go down, let’s go down swinging.
Read them all here. H/T to Ex-Donkey Blog.
If you want to make fools out of liberals by making them take some idiotic idea seriously, you need to use the appropriate keywords, because liberals respond to keywords, not ideas, much as dogs drool when you say dinner or treatsie.
Let’s take an idiotic idea, oh, I don’t know, here’s one: guns cause crime. In order to make liberals believe that you’re incredibly intelligent and insightful, you need to talk about a cuture of gun ownership (culture is the keyword, you see) and how it produces a climate of violence (climate is another drool-liberal-drool keyword).
Don’t worry about coming up with facts. Liberals don’t care about facts. They scorn fact. You need to have “ideas,” though again, you have to use those keywords, otherwise, your “ideas” will go right over their heads. So don’t say, all men are rapists, because you won’t get the proper respnse; instead, say, all men participate in a culture of rape, and every liberal within a hundred miles will sit up and slobber.
Other keywords include: community, peoples, oppression, disenfranchisement, marginalization, dissent, corporate (in an evil, conspiratorial sense, of course), social (or world) justice, and violate. You can make even the most idiotic, counterfactual “idea” attractive to liberals by littering your presentation of it with these keywords.
Happy liberal baiting!
I’ll also be blogging on Pennsylvania politics over at Blue State Conservatives. They use Moveable Type; I use WordPress. I’ll figure it out.
