I was on a Law and Order forum (as in Dick Wolf, the TV series), and one of the discussions was this week’s episode of L&O:SVU. If you didn’t see it, the relevant thing is that a reporter went to jail for refusing to name his source, and the DA character stated that there is no federal shield law.
So this person popped up and said, “There’s no federal shield law? Is that true?”
I and several others said something along the lines of, “Why do you think Valerie Plame was in jail?”
She came back with, “Valerie Plame? Who’s that?”
Somebody please tell me how anybody can be so completely out of touch that they don’t know who Valerie Plame is.
Sign me amazed, and a bit horrified.

I quit watching L&O last year after being a fan for a long time. It’s gotten too weird and commie for my tastes.
