Who Gets It; Who Doesn’t
I think it’s fascinating and rather ironic (given that Al-Gore “invented the internet”) that the RNC gets it, but the DNC does not.
Remember the conventions? The RNC invited a whole slew of bloggers and put them in the front row, and they blogged real-time throughout the convention (the DNC did not).
Now, we have the same thing with the Alito hearings. The RNC invited bloggers to blog real-time; the DNC did not.
Michelle Malkin has a partial list of the invited bloggers here. For more Alito links, see here.

I have to pount out that several leftist sites live blogged the 2004 DNC, among them KoS, Eschaton, Oliver Willis, and others. The Daily Show actually interviewed all of them as they blogged in the stands. As for the Alito hearings, while my blog aggregators haven’t turned up a leftist liveblogger, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if several are doing so tomorrow — all saying the same things. Liberal blogs have consolidated their message and talking points a great deal in the last few years, and they will do so here. Of that I have no doubt.
I found a few sites liveblogging Alito from the left sir:

Why Pay for Partisan Hacks When Most of Them Will Work for Free?
This is too rich: I’m in D.C. today for a “blogger forum” being held by the Republican National Committee. The morning session will feature RNC head Ken Mehlman, briefings from RNC senior staff on races, polling, and blogs, plus live-blogging…
