Well, you know I agree with you about the Mac - just not about Wagner.
You commented on my blog: “Italian opera. Pffft. Sentimental, cliche, syrupy crap that all sounds the same.
You want more melodic than Wagner without the crap? Richard Strauss.”
In case you don’t get to see it, here is what I replied:
“Prof, I am a Richard Strauss fan especially when sung by Jesse Norman.
Actually the biggest problem that I have with Wagner’s music for voice is not so much his compostion but the way in which it is sung. It seems a tradition of belting it out like Ethel Merman is the norm.
Yes, Italian opera is not as intellectual or refined as Wagner but it’s beautiful and soothing.”
I watched several of those Mac Spoofs and they were very funny… could do without the F-bombs, though. Then they’d be hilarious… and I could show my kids.
Right Wing Nation » See? Just Ask Me.: said Obama was too pompous and impressed with himself to apologize. And after Obama stuck his great big foot all the way down his gullet the other day,
Right Wing Nation » That's That: “Eh, not so much” becomes “Hell, no.” Although she is 60 and unlikely to have another shot at the White House, Clinton is apparently concerned that she would appear ungenerous to the Republicans’ first female vice-presidential candidate if she were to go after her.
Right Wing Nation » Like I Said: very savvy — and it’s working. Turn the sound down before you watch this clip. Allahpundit calls it roaring. That’s pretty accurate.
