I’ve been on the verge of doing this for about a week now. I’m in a pretty grumpy mood today, so I’m just going to lay it out.

If you’re one of those idiots that uses those intrusive, idiotic snap previews on your blog, I’m not going to be reading your blog or visiting until you take the damned snap previews down. I don’t give a damn what the page looks like. I don’t want popups. I’m trying to read your damned blog, but for only God knows what reason, you decide it would be a good idea to pop up a little preview to keep me from reading your damned blog.

You’re a frakking idiot if you use those damned previews. Period.

If you’re too damned stupid to figure out why those snap previews are counter-productive, see here (hat tip to Patrick Ruffini).

YES! Those things are annoying as hell. It somehow got added to my blog as an “extra” so I tracked it down and did away with it.
For those people with wordpress who want to get rid of it and don’t know how, get to your dashboard and click on presentation. It will be under a tab called “extras”. Simply unclick it and save.

Wrong. The big brother attitude of this post reminds me of those a dem’s paternal directives.

I find those snapshots helpful and want more.

Please don’t force your preferences on me in cases where you can remove them for yourself with 2 clicks. It is right there in the options.

    Just my libertarian view.

Big brother? Force? I’d say it was your unmedicated view.

I must have missed the part where you were waving a gun around and forcing people to change their sites. lol

Good Lord, those snap previews are irritating. What problem does a snap preview solve? The problem of being too lazy to click on a link and see the actual page?

Blogs are about CONTENT. Not cutesy widgets. Spot on, RWP.

There’s a way to get rid of them, but it involves installing a cookie:

    http://lifehacker.com/software/annoyances/disable-snap-previews-on-web-sites-232846.php

(N.B. Albert Quick and others: this is disabling IN YOUR OWN BROWSER so you don’t see them, not going in and altering another person’s blog. So it’s all about the personal freedom, still.)

I hate the danged things too. They screw with my vision and startle me.

I don’t need no frickin “snap”… why do you think god invented the “right click” and “open in new window” buttons. Like I can read the tiny thumbnail views!
