They’re always proving by their actions that the “stereotypes” about them are dead-on. You know, on Monday, they’ll squeal about their patriotism being questioned, then on Tuesday, they’ll burn a flag or two (because “dissent is patriotic,” you know — and no, Thomas Jefferson said no such thing). Or they’ll wring their hands about how they’re viewed as soft on crime or national security, then turn around and vote against bills to keep criminals behind bars where they belong or vote to cut and run.
So we have another example, from San Francisco:
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors’ public safety committee today approved most of a package of gun-control measures introduced by Mayor Gavin Newsom in May.
I know, it’s hardly surprising. But let’s take a look at these “measures”:
The committee sent to the full board measures that would require handguns to be kept in a locked container or disabled with a trigger lock; prohibit the possession or sale of firearms or ammunition on property controlled by the city and county; and require that licensed firearms dealers provide an inventory of their firearms to the Police Department every six months.
Registration. Also not surprising. But some of it was just too controversial:
The committee did not forward to the board the most controversial of the measures — the creation of a local registry of gun offenders — due to concerns about civil liberties.
And there we have it — gun registration is fine for law abiding citizens, but for violent criminals, well, that’s a civil liberties violation!
Collectively, the liberals in SF have at most the intelligence of a grapefruit — and that’s not just the politicians, that’s all of them. The morons that hang out of trees naked. Or ride bikes naked, with stupid little soundbyte slogans painted on them (but they have their helmets on). And maybe I just insulted grapefruits.
If so, I apologize.
