Via Hot Air. Interesting because it explodes stereotypes.
If I asked which region of the country, east, midwest, south or west, has the highest percentage of pro football fans, what would you answer? The south? I would, but that’s not the case:
|
“Do you follow professional football?”

|
Region
|
|
| East | 52 |
| Midwest | 54 |
| South | 44 |
| West | 50 |
The household income responses are also interesting:
|
Household Income
|
|
| Less than $35000 | 41 |
| $35000 to $49999 | 54 |
| $50000 to $74999 | 54 |
| $75000 and over | 59 |
So the higher the household income, the more likely the household follows pro football. But if you think that’s interesting, look at this:
| Education | |
| High School or less | 45 |
| Some college | 51 |
| College graduate | 55 |
| Post graduate | 60 |
So pro football fandom increases with the level of education. This is also interesting:

Harris charts the favorite teams from 98 until 2007, by the way. The Colts have moved from 23rd to 2nd between 1998 and the present.
