Sarah Palin
In my discussion of who would (not) be a good VP for McCain, I assumed that Sarah Palin’s pregnancy ruled her out. SJ Reidhead vigorously disagrees. If she is willing, I think she’s the ideal VP.

Sarha Palin in this morning’s Anchorage Daily News:
“I’m very confident that a pregnant woman should not and doesn’t have to be prohibited from doing anything, including running for vice president.”
I think that counts as “willing”.
I listened to the acceptance speech of Sarah Palin for the Republican vice president candidate. The audience for this event was strictly Anglo-Saxon meaning I didn’t see any diversity. I did not see any African Americans, any Mexican Americans, any Chinese-Americans, any Japanese-Americans or any other ethnic group. Is this the party of exclusiveness or inclusiveness. I want to give the Republicans a benefit of the doubt but it seems like they are in their own little world.
Really? You didn’t see the black cheerleaders? And given that it was a stadium full of people, I have trouble believing that you counted and categorized every little bean there.
Of course, we could be like the Democrats, and pay minorities to come, then sit them in strategic places to give the appearance of “diversity.” But then, that’s all “diversity” is about: appearance.
