Get The Popcorn!
The Obamanation has thrown Charlie “I can’t add but I’m a tax expert anyway” Rangel under the bus — at the Convention:
The Obama campaign is denying House Ways and Means Chairman Charles B. Rangel a speaking role at this month’s Democratic National Convention – a move those close to the powerhouse Harlem congressman view as a spiteful snub.
Rangel surrogates approached Obama staffers this week about the possibility of securing him a slot at the podium, making the case that it would showcase reconciliation between the nominee and Hillary Rodham Clinton’s African-American supporters.
But they were told that the 78-year-old congressman’s support for Clinton earned him a place at the end of the line behind Barack Obama’s loyalists – even if Rangel played a crucial part in prodding Clinton to abandon her presidential bid in June.
Let’s hear it for party unity! But don’t put that popcorn down!
Heart-ache: Democratic convention protesters to be held in mini-Gitmo

Send to a Friend | printer-friendly“Very bare bones and very reminiscent of a political prisoner camp or a concentration camp,” says one Code Pink member after viewing the footage; subtract the crematoria, starvation, back-breaking labor, and any real possibility of being locked up for longer than a few hours and you’ll see the harrowing truth in her words. What makes a small cell with bars and a metal toilet any more or less dehumanizing than this makeshift holding pen? Nothing, except (a) here you have to make do with a common cell, like animals on a farm, instead of your own individual cage, like animals in a shelter, and (b) it’s romantic and flattering to the collective ego of the heroes of the revolution to think they might be getting the same treatment as political dissidents or Al Qaeda. They’re dangerous, man; would the city be building this if they weren’t? Which is to say, they’d be disappointed if the city hadn’t.
Video at the link. But remember how all the leftists whined about “free speech zones” at the 2004 GOP Convention — when the Democrats put protesters in cages?
Need more butter on my popcorn.
