Oh, The Irony
I saw several reports yesterday that Obama had claimed that “McCain didn’t know who he was dealing with.” Well, may I suggest that somebody in this campaign doesn’t know who he’s dealing with, but it’s not John McCain.
In response to the Obamoid’s lame attempts to tie McCain to corruption, Team McCain came back with this:
“Barack Obama’s ad is ridiculous. Because of John McCain, corruption was exposed and people like Jack Abramoff went to jail.
“However, if Barack Obama wants to have a discussion about truly questionable associations, let’s start with his relationship with the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, at whose home Obama’s political career was reportedly launched. Mr. Ayers was a leader of the Weather Underground, a terrorist group responsible for countless bombings against targets including the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon and numerous police stations, courthouses and banks. In recent years, Mr. Ayers has stated, ‘I don’t regret setting bombs … I feel we didn’t do enough.’
“The question now is, will Barack Obama immediately call on the University of Illinois to release all of the records they are currently withholding to shed further light on Senator Obama’s relationship with this unrepentant terrorist?”
Then the jug-eared jackass tried to criticize McCain for having too many houses, and that wasn’t such a good idea.
“Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people ‘cling’ to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?”
“The reality is that Barack Obama’s plans to raise taxes and opposition to producing more energy here at home as gas prices skyrocket show he’s completely out of touch with the concerns of average Americans.”
And this:
“We’re delighted to have a real estate debate with Barack Obama,” said spokesman Brian Rogers, adding that the press should focus on Obama’s house. “It’s a frickin’ mansion. He doesn’t tell people that. You have a mansion you bought in a shady deal with a convicted felon.”
The felon reference was to Tony Rezko, a former Obama friend and financial backer who was convicted on fraud and bribery charges this year. Rogers vowed to intensify efforts to link Obama to Rezko in the coming days.
“That’s fair game now,” he said. “You are going to see more of that now that this issue has been joined. You’ll see more of the Rezko matter from us.”
And being men of their word, the campaign has launched a website about Obama and his criminal pal, Rezko. And the RNC has published The Tony Rezko Fact Sheet (pdf), everything you wanted to know about Obama’s convicted felon buddy.
Obama brought a water pistol to a Howitzer fight. If I may offer The ObamaMessiah and his minions some advice, since you hang out with terrorists and convicted felons — which I realize is par for the course for your Chicago political machine types — it’s probably not the best idea to try to tar John McCain with corruption or character issues. First, it’s ludicrous. Second, it’s hypocritical. And third, John will fight back. A lot harder than anything you’ve ever had to deal with.
Oh, and while I’m giving advice, that “class warfare” thing just doesn’t work very well here. Ask Kerry. Or Gore. Or Edwards. Oh, and crap like this probably isn’t going to boost your popularity.
As Ace Drew says, “I’m really starting to enjoy this campaign. And it hasn’t really started yet!”
Popcorn: It’s not just for watching Democrats implode any more!

I’ve said for a long time the man is either dumb or naive. I had hoped it was the latter, but I fear it’s the former.
Uh, well, we probably should stop setting bad examples of foreign intervention for Russia. But the example that applies in Georgia was set by the last Democratic president. C’mon, BO, say it: Bill Clinton screwed up in Bosnia.
He can’t say that. It’ll tick off his vice presidential candidate. After all, he’d be talking about her husband :-)
