Missed Opportunities
We were supposed to get freezing rain and maybe an ice storm this morning, turning into rain as the day got warmer (well, less cold), so when I left for 7:30 Mass thirty minutes early, I fully expected slick roads and probably a late arrival. But there was no ice or rain (still isn’t), and I didn’t get there late.
The sky was pretty awesome. Bright blue sky as the sun was coming up, streaked by almost neon red clouds. If I’d had my camera, but of course, I didn’t. That isn’t a good weather omen according to the maritime rhyme:
Red at night,
sailor’s delight,
red in the morning,
sailors take warning.
Still, it was really impressive.
