Things That Really Drive Me Nuts
Well, thing. Since people started doing it back in the 80s, it has really annoyed me. I thought I’d get used to it, but as time has marched on and more people have adopted it, it only irritates me more.
I speak of that very tired, very 80s, but oh, so chic habit of typing everything in lower case. You know, like, oh, “i really liked that movie, and so did karen and billy!”
Somebody please tell me: What’s the point of this ignorant practice? Are these people trying to tell the world that they’re illiterate? Are they trying to broadcast that they’re too damned lazy to use the SHIFT key? Are they just too stupid to grasp basic English punctuation?
And no, this has nothing to do with the submissions I’m getting for the Carnival of Education. Really. No, really. Nothing at all.

I confess, I am guilty! I only do it in chatrooms and on IM, though. I can’t fathom getting away with it in any other format.

i was once a very successful ‘capital’ist. unfortunately they determined that i was so productive that i certainly couldn’t be giving my fair share to those less fortunate.
