Dogs have been medicated and let out three times, and I’m on my way to the Waffle House. I will then return, let the dogs out again (because the steroids make Dolly extremely thirsty, so she needs the water bowl refilled frequently, not to mention frequent trips to the back yard).
Choir practice tonight, after ribs […]

Okay, Wegman’s does do a good cafe au lait, and at prices competing with McCafe’s latte ($2.33, I believe). But I had forgotten how truly awful the Chinese at Wegman’s is. Almost pukeworthy.
Speaking of, I may head to the McCafe here in a few minutes for one of those.

Seems to be swine flu (oh my God, we’re all gonna die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and I was going to throw up some snark about the idiots who are panting and fainting about it, but JimmyB has done an excellent job. Why mess with perfection?
We do flu hysteria about three times every two years. Yawn.

In the last three months of 2008, that’s right, three months, Americans bought enough guns to outfit the Chinese and Indian armies, combined.
Thanks, Uncle! And speaking of, there’s more.

From some book entitled Art and Fear.

Yesterday, there were police cars parked all over. Where you live, that may be common, but that’s pretty unusual here.
It’s Blue/White Weekend. Literally thousands of alumni in town for the game.
We have multiple errands, none of which take us (necessarily) into town. Don’t have to brave downtown until Great Vespers tonight.

So which leftwing martyr/icon is left? Sacco & Vanzetti were guilty. The Rosenbergs: guilty. Hiss: guilty. Margaret mead: liar. Rigoberta Menchu: liar. Duranty: liar. Kinsey: liar. Upton Sinclair: liar. I.F. Stone isn’t looking too hot (lied about America often, loved totalitarians, might have taken KGB money).

I not only did not blog here much during Lent (and not at all during Holy Week). I didn’t keep up. Having done a cursory read-through, I see that I missed a great deal.
However, the real point is that my priorities have shifted. I am more interested in faith, prayer, and worship than I am […]

Lent is over. Tell that to my church. I have to be there in about 30 minutes to sing liturgy (and Vespers tonight, and every night this week). On my way back, I need to get my hair cut, and pick up something. So I should be back early afternoon.

The week before last, Sayid shot “young Ben” on the main island. Recall that “old Ben” is on the other island (Kate whacked him in the head with the oar). My theory was that “young Ben” had to die if “old Ben” was to set foot on the island to avoid a Grandfather Paradox.
We’re watching […]

Dolly is a trooper — she’s certainly dealing with this better than we are. Last night, she came into the dining room when we went to eat (she didn’t the night before). She turned a bit too far to the left in the kitchen and “ran into” the stove, but we called her in, and […]
