Idiocy Abounds
So on TV just now was an ad for EcoCanteen. For just $9.95 plus shipping and handling you can have a bottle for your water! Plastic fills landfills!
The ad is geared for the eco-morons who can’t figure out that they can refill a plastic bottle. I can’t help but recall several scenes from the recent show Pitchmen, when some hopeful inventor would demonstrate a similarly-st00pid invention, like the lockable cooler, and Billy Mays said, “But can’t I just walk away with the cooler?”
Well duh.
Similarly, there are the idiots who first complain about Hollywood movies, then turn around and say they never go to the movies. Uhm, hello. The only determiner for “good movie” ultimately is ticket sales, so when Hollywood comes out with a good movie, you go — otherwise, there is no incentive to produce good movies. Like Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, in the theaters now. Good movie. Well worth the ticket price. Yet all kinds of people who moan and whine about Hollywood movies will read good reviews but not go see it in the theater because they think they’re punishing Hollywood. Wrong. They’re ensuring yet more lousy movies.
But hey. Idiots are everywhere.
One response so far

Why pay for an “ecofiendly” water bottle with P&H when I can go to a surplus store and buy a canteen for the same price that holds much more?
I have seen this commercial and I have to wonder, do those so-called enviro-nuts think we are really that stupid?
I spent four years with a railroad contractor on the ballast trains. In the locomotives that I rode in operating the system, there was a small refer that held about 1 and 1/2 cases of 10 ounce water bottles. They did not go overboard when empty. There were trash bags available in the unit and they were used by this individual.
I guess practicallity doesn’t figure into the equation with this crowd, except to make money.
