About me

 

I’m a grumpy old coot, at least according to some. I have been accused of being many things: cynical, ill-tempered, impatient, a right-wing fascist, a nazi, just about any x-ist, and sarcastic. I have never been accused of being bubbly, perky, or nurturing.

Thank God for that.

I was at one point, like David Horowitz, a liberal–until I figured out that liberalism was utter baderdash. I love dogs and despise cats. I’m not big on passing laws “for the children!” I have been a chef, a counselor (don’t ask), a project manager, oh, all kinds of things. Most recently, I was faculty at a business school (where the university pushed me several lightyears to the right of where I already was). Believe it or not, my students seem to really like me. I’m a math and code geek, and I hate GUIs and “user friendly” computers. Speaking of:

  • People who will not mind their own business, like “activists” and straightedgers and vegans (I’ve met exactly one vegan who didn’t make it her mission in life to dictate what everybody else should and should not eat)

    I need a list of conservative colleges, ones that deplore political correctness and extol the acquisition of knowledge. The college is for my niece who is a B student, athletic (soccer, rowing, water hockey (?)) Her family is working class, can’t afford too much.

    Her favorite subjects are English, Spanish, and Geography, and sports.
