Really, I’m not. And this isn’t from some “dubious” (read: conservative or rational) source, either. This is from PETA’s very own website. I kid you not.
Wilmington, N.C. — Bound to a wheelchair and repeatedly crossing the road in front of a local KFC, an activist in a giant chicken costume will lead a protest against […]

You see a lot of, well, bizarre stuff on the web. But Right Wing Howler seems to have a talent for finding the strangest of the strange.
First, there’s this, which you’ll think is one of those, “Uhm, ooooooooo-kay” moments, until you read this.
Technorati: weird, bizarre, odd, strange

Starting tomorrow, open trackback posts will become open thread posts. You may trackback, or you may bring up any topic you like in the comments. I don’t like “open thread,” so I’ll call them free thread posts.
They will not, however, be sticky (remain at the top of the page). You will have to scroll. Sorry.

It’s long past time to abolish the EPA, and damn Nixon to hell for creating it in the first place (conservative, my ass).

The biggest problem I have with liberals, particularly on certain issues like abortion or capital punishment, is their lack of principles. I just don’t know how to counter someone like that, who argues not from principle, but groupthink.
Let’s take abortion. Liberals are fond of saying that abortion should be, “safe, legal, and rare.” Yet, can […]

Anyone who has a Wordpress blog knows about the quicktags, the convenient “code” buttons that appear at the top of the post screen, like those that appear at the top of the comment screen. Trying to change or add to them, however, turned out to be a giant pain in the ass — because, as […]

It’s not against the law to have a nude bicycle race, as long as they wear helmets?
Insane.

Newsmax reports:
NEW YORK — Justice Department lawyers warned eight months ago that a nefarious element had infiltrated important East Coast ports, but they weren’t talking about terrorists or Arab shipping companies.
They were talking about the Mafia.
Well, of course. The ports are unionized. What do you expect?
Technorati: mafia, organized crime, ports, unions

that drives me crazy.
With mass nouns (nouns that do not take a plural, like water) we use less/least:
“There seems to be less water in the tank today.”
With count nouns (nouns that do take a plural, like dogs) we use fewer/fewest:
“There seem to be fewer dogs in the park today,” and not “There seem to be […]

The disconnect between high school faculty and university faculty I have mentioned has been borne out in a study published in The Chronicle of Higher Education. Both high school and university faculty were asked to rate how well they thought students were prepared for college, and the results are unsurprising (hat tip to Digito Society).

it’s = it is
its = it possessive
And while we’re on things that really make me crazy,
to lose (opposite of to gain or to win — ends in a “z” sound)
to loose (to set loose — ends in an “s” sound)
And finally:
“Hung” is what you did when you hung the picture on the wall.
Somebody […]
