Liberalism is inherently anti-American, no matter what euphemisms you use or what convoluted hoops you jump through.

Liberals dislike free enterprise and want to force equality by redistributing wealth (by taxing us to death). Liberals are socialists, whether they want to claim the title or no; any distinction between a socialist state and a liberal welfare state is a meaningless one.

Liberals dislike personal responsibility and accountability, and instead believe that people (as members of groups, of course) are wealthy because they are “privileged” and poor because they are “disadvantaged” and refuse to entertain the idea that perhaps the wealthy are wealthy because they made wise choices (and vice versa). They approve of attempts to bankrupt businesses by filing gratuitous lawsuit after gratuitous lawsuit, because they believe that McDonald’s is responsible for John’s being fat, not John for deciding to eat there every day.

Liberals dislike Federalism—and many don’t even understand it, as we saw in 2000, when so many had never heard of the Electoral College, or worse, claimed that it was set up so people wouldn’t have to travel so far—and want to destroy it in favor of a wholly democratic system.

Liberals dislike free speech, wanting to impose and enforce political correctness and pass “hate crimes” legislation. “Hate speech” legislation will follow, as we see on university campuses across the United States now, and as we see on those campuses, “hate speech” will include any criticism of liberalism or the liberals’ pet causes, such as multiculturalism or diversity. Liberals dislike free speech, unless it’s the right kind of speech; after all, if you weren’t full of “hate” you’d be a liberal, or so goes their illogic. Witness MoveOn cheering McCain-Feingold, then screaming about it when it looked like it might be applied to them.

Liberals dislike the liberties as set down in the Constitution because they are held by individuals and not by groups. Liberals dislike individuality, wanting instead to lump everyone into groups.

Liberals look to the government to solve all their problems (as Europeans do) and dislike those who do not (as Americans have traditionally done). Liberals insist, contrary to reality (not to mention the majority of our history as the United States) that it is “necessary” to have a nanny state to watch over us–and it is to them because they do not believe in personal responsibility or accountability.

Liberals dislike the separation of powers and the system of checks and balances and subvert it whenever it furthers their social agenda. Witness the praise of the SF mayor and the gay marriage issue vs. Roy Moore and the ten commandments. Witness their constant support of the Abu Ghraib “investigation” by Congress. Witness the way they are always talking about Bush’s budget, even though the House controls the budget, not the President or White House.

Liberals dislike patriotism, and take every possible opportunity to sneer at those who fly US flags and love their country.

The only thing liberals like about this country is their ability to scream vile epithets about Republicans (it’s not “hate speech” if you slander Republicans–don’t you listen to Hot Air America?), protest, and sing banal protest songs. Everything that sets the United States apart from the rest of the world they want to change. They want a socialism. They want to subvert individual liberties (the only liberties) in the name of the “public good” or “to save the children.” They dislike Federalism, and have done everything they can to gut the power of the states. They dislike US military action, and only grudgingly express support or approval of US military action in WW2 (though more and more lately I have seen liberals claim that the holocaust was exaggerated, and that Israel is evil while terrorists are noble freedom fighters).

Most tellingly, however, they want to destroy national sovereignty and sell us to the United Nations.

Liberals claim they love this country, but they dislike everything that makes this country great. Here’s a clue: that isn’t love. What it is I leave as an exercise for the reader. And if you want to see where liberalism will lead our nation, I invite you to spend a few years on any university campus, where liberal administrations have been violating the rights of students for years in the name of “multiculturalism” and PC-ness.
